During October 29th and 30th, 2014 experts from Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Spain, Venezuela and Colombia participated in the international meeting Radio, citizenship and ICT. Dialogues and sound knowledge organized by Sergio Arboleda University and Group ComuicArte, whose central purpose was to discuss the different ways to portrait citizenship in the radio. In the contest some reflections emerged about different and complementary subjects, “The dramatized radio as a promoter of the exercise of citizenship”.” Radio as a pedagogical tool in times of ICT”, “Free radios: democratizing communication through ICT, and What ought to be radio in its public function”. We share with you in this issue of Civilizar Ciencias de la Comunicación papers presented by José Ignacio López Vigil, from Radialistas Apasionadas y Apasionados, Gago Garcia Santiago, from Radios Libres, and Vanessa Becerra, from Group ComunicArte, as well as interviews to the Peruvian communication expert Rosa María Alfaro and the President of the Assiociación Latinoamericana de Radio Edicativa, ALER, Gerardo Lombardi.
