Resumen
This article seeks to identify the public policy of youth employment in Colombia, as well as the generation of an academic contribution to help create incentives and job placement in this population from the analysis of that policy. The relevance of this analysis is the high unemployment rate, especially in young recent graduates of universities; the figures are clear: in the case of men, a rate of 12 % is observed and for women, an average of 20 %. It should be noted that youth unemployment figures are more evident in rural areas with respect to capital cities, placing Colombia as the second country in Latin America with the highest rate of youth unemployment in the region. Considering the above, will be announced some policy recommendations that will generate a contribution to the “Law 1780 of 2016” that promotes employment and youth entrepreneurship.
