Resumen
The present article intends the adoption of the systems thinking approach and systems dynamics modelling as a research method in the field of the New Strategic Theory (NSE). Systems thinking and systems dynamics are branches of the General Systems Theory (GST). In a broad sense the GST is presented as a systematic and scientific approach for the representation of the reality and, at the same time, as a stimulant for interdisciplinary forms of working and learning. In this scientific paradigm, characterized by its holistic and integrative perspective, what matters most are the relationships and datasets arising from the observation of systemic modes of behavior influenced by feedback. Has a practice, offers a suitable environment to communication between experts and users. The objective is to deepen the NST, framed in the concepts of complexity, strategic communication, cohesion and social articulation as challenges of citizenships and organizations of the 21st century. In order to demonstrate this effect, a description of the systemic approach and the systems dynamics is elaborated, since they constitute the fundamental theoretical pillars of the methodology that we recommend to strengthen the development of the NST. The methodology consists in the presentation of a dynamic model and a transparent box simulator to strategically manage a tourist destination, offering dynamic hypothesis which, through its comparison with reality-based reference modes, allow to draw important conclusions about the usefulness of the systems approach applied to the study of complex social systems. As a result of the application of the systems approach to study a complex phenomenon, the proposal to use this approach as a methodology of the NST is consubstantiated.
