Resumen
The content of this article makes part of an academic debate focused on the discussion about the process and transformation of professional training in Social Communication and Journalism in Colombia as well as the impact on the curriculum framework (fields, components and subjects) which has produced the insertion of the New Strategic Theory of Communication, as a new perspective for research and training in Communication. This is where universal knowledge, cross-cutting and disciplinary expertise are at stake and constantly evolving. A debate is also created to discuss about the new idea of “competence” seen as a cognitive, instrumental and axiological construct similar to the legitimate idea of “strategy” as a synonym of confrontation, action and improvement. Finally the concept of “management” as a methodology/competence of work from the idea of learning how to be to the how-know notion, as long as, the curricular framework for training in Communication and Journalism has considerably changed since this new idea of training from multiple abilities was incorporated.
