La enseñanza de la historia urbana y barrial. El caso del barrio San José de Bogotá.

Abstract

This article highlights the importance for the development of current historiography, teaching and research in neighborhood history. The article emphasizes the individual’s relationship with his space environment, from the point of view of urban history in Barrio San Jose, south of Bogotá. The methodology is supported by evidence of oral history and research of neighborhood files; from there, this text intends to open a reflection that moves from the micro-social text to the larger historical context of the city and the country. Thus the article examines, first, some important elements of the teaching of urban and neighborhood history and historiography; then, it explains the different social dynamics that intersect in the limited space of a neighborhood; finally, it raises questions about individual and collective historical experiences of the local people. Este artículo destaca la importancia que tiene para la historiografía, la enseñanza e investigación en historia barrial. Se enfatiza en las relaciones del individuo con su entorno, desde la perspectiva de la historia urbana en el barrio San José, sur de Bogotá. Metodológicamente se apoya en la historia oral y en la pesquisa de archivos barriales, a partir de ahí, abre una reflexión que transita del texto microsocial al contexto histórico amplio de la ciudad y el país. Luego, examina algunos elementos relevantes de la enseñanza de la historia y de la historiografía urbana y barrial; enseguida, explica las dinámicas sociales que se entrecruzan en un barrio; por último, pone en discusión las vivencias históricas de los habitantes del barrio.
