Resumen
The presence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on sociery today has become a component of progress for humanity, when it is time to implement collaborative work, to socialize knowledge and to strengthen globalizaton, not excluding its entertainment component. Additionally, applications in clinical settings have been found such as problems that can result from aging, among others. However, to the extent that ICT have been implemented in education, they have raised concerns in the scientific psychological field for their impacts on the cognitive processes of the students. Especially university students. The scenario raises questions about how the different products offered by ICT can modify the processing of information and what the limits and appropriateness of their use are. But what is most striking is the little or null amount of published research that clearly discloses the impact it can have on the university population. This paper aims to the uncertainty about the appropriate use of ICT, as well as the research on its psychological effects on humans.
